Introduction

Few birders have visted this reserve in Jiangxi though the birdlist appears very impressive and include Pale-headed Woodpecker which is close to extinction in south-east China.

Mandarin Duck, Scaly-breasted Merganser, Black Kite, Cabot's Tragopan, Grey-headed Lapwing, Chinese Barbet, Pale-headed Woodpecker, Rusty Laughingthrush, Moustached Laughingthrush, Green Shrike Babbler, White-browed Shrike Babbler, Black-chinned Yuhina, Short-tailed Parrotbill, Chestnut-vented Nuthatch, Yellow-browed Tit.

Other Wildlife

In common with some other reserves near the Jiangxi/Fujian border Yangjifeng has a high diversity of amphibians and reptiles. Mammal species include Tufted Deer Elaphodus cephalophus, Chinese Serow Capricornus milneedwardsii, Tibetan and Rhesus Macaque and Chinese Hare.
